Christmas Time

Christmas comes but once a year

To light our life and stir our soul

It brings great joy and peace within

To sing of Christmas all year long

This is a special time of year and one that is especially meaningful for me. I was born in December and enjoy the season a lot. Christmas has always been a special time with all the colored lights, the decorated houses with their Christmas trees all lit up, the snow and the trains my Dad put under the tree each year. Yes, special because it is the time when we celebrate, not only the birth of Christ, but the spirit of giving; to sing all the special song of the season and a time for celebrating life and the birth of all in creation. December 21st is the shortest day of the year (Winter solstice). Winter solstice was celebrated for thousands of year as a “pagan” holiday with music, dancing, and drinking. It was a time to celebrate the fact that each day will become longer as we look forward to spring. Spring, the time when the earth seems to be reborn bring forth its abundance and filling us with hope.

As we look at this time of year, we look back on the year and wonder where all are friends are and what they have been up to. Should I give them a call or write them a letter? It’s a good time to reconnect with friends and family.

We can’t help thinking about all of the people who have so much and all those who have so little. We all share in this time. We give to those who are in need, and we give to each other as an expression of love that says “you’re special to me”. As you think about this time, I hope you will think about all the people in your life now and all those who were part of your life in time past. Send each one a special blessing and a prayer of love for the New Year.

Spiritualism verses Christianity

Often people ask me "can a Christian really be a Spiritualist"?  I say yes because I've been a Christian most of my life.

At one Time it was common practice for parents to take their children to church and Sunday School every Sunday.  Something that a lot of modern day parents don't do. I was raised in a Protestant church but I didn't always enjoy going.  Like most children at that time, I would rather be out side playing with my friends than sitting in a church service. I really didn't like Sunday school that well either. During church service's, after Sunday school, the pastor would talk on a subject that I didn't understand.  As I grew older, I accepted the fact that I was expected to attend church on my own even if my parents didn't go.

When I was in high school, I attended at Pilgrim Holiness Church.  While attending that church, the church sponsored their kids going to summer camp.  While at their summer camp in the mid 1950s, I became a born again Christian.  However, it wasn't until I started going to college that I started to enjoy attending church.

During my college years I was attending the fundamentalist church in California. The church had a college age group that I became a part of. While I was attending the college age group meetings I was asked to preside over their Wednesday evening Bible study. At our Wednesday night prayer meetings we had bible studies followed by prayers.

One Sunday morning the pastor of the fundamentalist church gave a sermon on the witch of Endor.  He made it very clear that all psychics and mediums where tools of the devil and Christians where never to associated with them.  Myself and many of the other college age kids at the church were quite upset with the pastor because all of us said that he was wrong because all of us had had many psychic experiences for years and we were all born again Christians.

The Wednesday following the pastors sermon on the witch one of our two sponsors was given time to give a talk. After some singing and opening prayer, I turned the meeting over to our sponsor and he started to talk about the witch of Endor, we all stopped him and told him that he and the pastor were wrong and we told him why.  The subject was never brought up again in our group. Later on I left the fundamentalist church I joined a Conservative Baptist Church in West Covina, California.

Ok, why am I a Spiritualist today if I am a born again Christian and even a fully ordained Spiritualist minister? It is because from birth I talked to spirits and believed the principles that Spiritualist followed.

Let me tell you about when I was very young. One summer day when I was about five years old my mother took me and my grandmother, my mothers mother, to visit a medium.  At the medium's home my mother  lift me setting under a big tree near the medium's house while she and my grandmother went into the house for a reading.  After the reading, my mother the medium and my grandmother left the house to get me from under the tree.  The medium looked at me and said "when you grow up, you will meet a rich girl and get married".  That's all I remember her saying.  But, in my mind I said "no, your not talking about me, you're talking about my younger brother" who was only two years old at the time.  What I said in my own mind is exactly what happened to my brother. All my life I seemed to know what people were thinking and saying about me behind my back.  I was rarely wrong.  One day at work an engineer friend was walking by me on his way to his desk. I knew that he was going to have a heart attack. He died a couple of days later. I was even able to sense what was happening to other people I came in contact with whether I knew them or not.

A Spiritualist medium is not a tool of the devil or even associated with dark magic, the occult or witchcraft or any kind of activity that does harm to another person.  The medium always says a prayer of protection to God before he/she gives a message at a church service and before giving readings.  The medium without exception strongly believes in God and the teachings of Christ.  Of course, not all mediums are Christian but all mediums believe in the one God*.

The teachings of Spiritualist are considered to be from the devil by the majority of Christians. Christians just don't understand that their Bible prophets, Christ and his disciples and apostle Paul were all mediums* or the divine, and to speak for them, serving as an intermediary with humanity, delivering this newfound knowledge from the supernatural entity to other people". (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) The Bible describes a prophet as a person who stands between God and man.  "A medium uses his or her psychic or intuitive abilities to see the past, present and future events of a person by tuning into the spirit energy surrounding that person. This means mediums rely on the presence of non-physical energy outside of themselves for the information relevant to the person being read". (Rebecca Rosen)

It is the job of the medium to pass on the messages they receive from spirit to the person they are standing in front of in a church service or giving a reading to.  Mediums are NOT tools of the devils and Spiritualists don't even believe that the devil exist or even Satan.  With that being said, Spiritualists know that there are individuals in the earth bound spirit world who act like the devil in order to try and continue their own barbaric life vicariously through a living human being. Hence the need for a priest or trained minister to act as an exorcist to remove the earth bound spirit from a person, a home or building and send them to the spirit world where they belong.  Because earth bound spirits exist it is necessary for mediums to protect themselves by saying a prayer of protection before giving messages or readings (asking God for protection against earth bound spirits).

Many of earth bound spirits at one time lived in the physical world, they were often criminals, alcoholics, dope addicts or even people who died suddenly and haven't accepted the fact that they had died. Earth bound spirits have been known to produce poltergeist type of activities. However, not all earth bound spirits attempt to possess a human person or produce poltergeist activities, but have been known to move into a house and try to live there as if they were alive and it was there own home. We call these people "friendly spirits".

All individuals who want to be Spiritualists can be without giving up their denominational affiliation or religious beliefs.  Spiritualism is more of an interdenominational church than is understood by non-spiritualists.  All religions and people no matter what their race, creed or national origin, or religious affiliation are all considered as brothers and sisters who are welcome in Spiritualist churches.  How many Christians can accept an atheist, Buddhist, Sikh or Muslim in there churches without prejudice? It is, however true, that their are exceptions to the rule.

The only thing that non-Spiritualists can say about Spiritualism is that it's not Christian. Spiritualists are accused of being devil worshipers and tools of the devil. Many Spiritualist don't believe that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of humanity, but do accept and believe his teachings.

I have showed above that Spiritualists are NOT devil worshipers. Spiritualists mediums try the spirits who come to them to know where they come from as the Bible has instructed. Yes, Spiritualist believe that there are many spirit dimensions where only spirits from the spirit world of light are communed with by Spiritualist mediums.

Born again Christians believe that they are the only ones who will go to be with the Lord when they die.  This is a gross misnomer because God is a God of love.  God has provided for Christians and non-Christians alike through Jesus Christ to have an opportunity to be in His presents when they die.  I say this because Spiritualists mediums for more than 164 years have proven that all humans no matter who they are or what they've done on earth well go to the spirit world (heaven) when they die, without exception. Jesus said "In my fathers house are many room, John 14:2. The spirit world has many levels, dimensions, plains, rooms, etc.

In the Bible, Matthew 25:46, almost all Bible translation the Greek word "aionios" has been translated as "everlasting punishment" the true meaning of the word means "age-long" or "age-during", but this word has been mistranslated as "everlasting"**. Christians take the verse in Matthew as proof that non-born again people will abide/sleep in the grave until Christ returns.  God has provided for the individuals in "hell", the lower darker dimensions of the spirit world, an opportunity to make restitution for their sins and non-acceptance of God and/or Jesus Christ. Non believers can work their way to the higher spirit realms by making restitution for their sin and criminal acts with the help of more advanced spirits from the spirit world of light where God's essences dwells.  The individual then has the opportunity to continue working spiritually towards dwelling in the actual presents of God, the highest dimension of the spirit world, heaven. See Anthony Borgia's book "Life in the World Unseen"***.

Christ message to man was that God, his father, was a God of love not a God of vengeance. The Bible says that Jesus died for ALL, 2 Corinthians 5:15. Not just for Christians but for all humanity from the first to the last person born and dies on planet earth.  God has provided for all of His children through Jesus Christ.

*  "A prophet is an individual who is claimed to have been contacted by the supernatural (of or relating to an order of existence beyond the visible observable universe; especially : of or relating to God or a god, demigod, spirit, or devil)

I highly recommend the following web sites to all persons who would like a deeper understanding of just who Christ was and his relationship to God.

Think Before You Speak

I was just reading an article where the arthur said that we should stop and take a look at our thoughts and know what they are really saying.  As I thought about that I realized that it was next to impossible for me to do.  How does one look at something that is a part of him?  Can we see our thoughts passing by our minds eye as if they were scrolling by on a screen?  If this was possible, then I can stop my thoughts and analyze them as often as needed and see them for what they are? Thoughts that were just something that the mind came up with in response to a stimulus of some kind.  It is only by looking at our thoughts in a different way than we normally do that which we are able to understand and their true meaning and intent.  Yes, we often think one thing and say or write something else.   Our minds thoughts streaming by without being stopped to analyze what they are.

However we might try checking our thoughts by writing them down.  Then we can see them as others might see them as we read what we have written.  We can even see if they are  coherent or are scattered without direction.

Far too many of us don't take the time to really think through our thoughts and ideas.  It seems that we have not written them down and sent on their way before making sure we have them right.  Most often it is only when other people talk to us about what we said or wrote that we take the time to look at our thoughts and try to figure them out.  Hopefully we are not too late to make things right.

It has been said that"thoughts are things" (Napoleon Hill).  Things that keep coming up in our lives to make us think and try to get things right.  No body wants to be around a person who always seems to be saying the wrong things at the wrong time.  The person who speaks before putting his mind in gear...

Now that you have an idea of how thoughts can affect your life; making life good for us or challenging, be careful what you say. Think  first, our spoken thoughts could come back on us  in a way that is definitely not good.

Did I learn anything?

As I think of all the things I've learned in my life that I am still as ignorant as the day I was born.  You would think that a high school diploma, the BA, the MR and the DD degrees I have would make me anything but ignorant, but what was it that prepared me for life itself.

Life on planet earth is filled with challenges and problems that require our utmost attention constantly. We use the things we learned from our parents, grandparents and friends to show us how to deal with life's challenges and problems. But, we cannot learn it all from those family members and friends.  We need the challenges and problems that are directed directly at us to prepare us for solving what ever it is that's thrown at us.

In school, we learned from our teachers and the books we've read and the test we've taken. And over the years we developed a degree of wisdom and knowledge that we've tried to apply to new challenges and problems.  We're proud of our accomplishments and strut around like there is nothing we can't solve.  Then life throws a curve at us that deflates are ego bring us back down to earth and we ask ourselves what happened?

We soon learn that real life problems are constantly changing to challenge us and keep us thinking and working to be all that we can be.

We have learned that it was supposed to be the job of our parents, our grandparents our friends and teachers to teach us what we might need to know in life. But, did our parent and the others do their job? Did we learn anything from them?  Maybe, but exactly what did we learned?  We may have learned that if we cannot follow the orders and dictates of others, we will suffer for it.  Suffer by have the things that we really need in life keep from us.  What does that mean?  It means that we are expected to do a job and do it perfectly every time or we will loose the reward that we expected to get when we finished. The reward being a pat on the back that says well done, or a pay increase from the company we work for. We also learned that all the work we've done in our life was for others.  Our real reward is the knowledge that we did our best and we did overcome a great number of life's challenges and problems.  We learned that in the end, what we know in our hearts is more important than anything we learned in school.

Do I still believe that I'm ignorant? No, I'm far from being ignorant.  I've learned the lessons that life had for me and I'm proud that I did do my best and I am satisfied that the word ignorance is just a word that has no meaning for me at all.

Remember, we are the sum of what we encountered in life and our reactions to them whether positive or negative.  Being conditioned by life's experiences, we are prone to react to life impulsively and instinctively rather than to respond on the basis of considered judgment.  Man's word and manner of speech reveals his inner life, where his focus is, and who and what determines his peace and joy. Winter

That magical time of year
When the earth sleeps for a time.
The beauty of the first snow flakes
That turns the earth so white.
Just a little chill in the air
That reminds us of warmer days.
The magic that only a winters day can bring
For you and me.

Each season has its special moments, but only winter has so much to offer each of us.

We look forward to skiing, ice skating, snow ball flights, sliding down a hill on our rumps or a piece of cardboard, sled-riding or just frolicking in the snow.  A wonderland of white that adorns pine trees with its splendid beauty and where a child's snowman guards the winter nights against the heat of the sun.

As winter progresses we look forward to Christmas, decorated trees, holly, mistletoe, Christmas diner with family and that special love one.

The magic turns our breath to a misty white while on cool days and nights makes the snow crunch beneath our feet. While on a cold winters night children and lovers sing Christmas carols while horses pull their sleight ringing their sleigh-bells keeping time with the music.

Let's not forget New Year's Day when one year passes into the history books and a new one begins.  We can't help looking forward to spring and its promise of new life and the banishing of the snow caped world.

With winters passing we also look forward to new opportunities for a better tomorrow and a promise of better days.

No other time of year is so challenging and yet so magical...as winter.

Runners

My son wrote the following for all you runners.

Had an epiphany of sorts yesterday.  Here is what I’ve come to realize:

You know you're a runner when you get excited about newest ASICS GT-2000-2, your new slogan is “Even the best can be better”, and you tell all your friends about it:
You know you're a runner when you mourn over discarding an old pair of runners, remembering all the battles you've fought together.
You know you’re a runner when money is no object when buying new shoes.
You know you’re a runner when you have “chafing” in places you didn’t know you had.
You know you’re a runner when you consider tapering before a marathon to be the hardest part of training.
You know you’re a runner when you try to convince your wife to go on winter vacations in warm places so you can run a marathon.
You know you're a runner when your answer to "How was your day dear?" is "GREAT! I had an awesome run!"
You know you're a runner when you try to turn all your friends into runners.
You know you're a runner when you have more spandex than underwear.
You know you're a runner when the slightest weight gain is a tragedy.
You know you're a runner when a day without running is torture.
You know you're a runner when you swear to one day be the world’s oldest marathon runner.
You know you’re a runner when you keep raising the bar.
You know you're a runner when you can't imagine life without running.
You know you're a runner when you accuse the person offering you a piece of cake, of attempted murder.
You know you're a runner when your Inbox keeps filling up with running related advertisements.
You know you're a runner when you religiously take your vitamins and supplements.
You know you're a runner when you can write the book on nutrition.
You know you're a runner when your biggest fear is not being able to run.
You know you're a runner when you won't play tennis with a friend, fearing possible injury.
You know you're a runner when you’re a member of GNC and Popeye’s.
You know you’re a runner when “taper” is a four letter world.
You know you’re a runner when you don’t know the meaning of an “Easy” run.
You know you're a runner when you start writing a bunch of "You know you're a runner when" sayings, and there is no end in sight.

Intuition

Where does  intuitive information really come from?  Intuitive information actually comes from ourselves. Let me explain that. The “you” that you are consciously aware of is only a small part of you. There is the physical part of you, your human body. You are certainly aware of that. Then there is the conscious part of you, your thoughts and feelings, again a part that you are aware of. Add in the subconscious mind, that storehouse of information and the programs that we have built that control our actions and behavior. This is all part of the human “you.” But there is more to you than that. The higher parts of ourselves actually reside in the spiritual realm. These higher parts are still you, you are just not normally consciously aware of them. And it is from these higher parts of yourself, your soul if you will, that intuitive insights come from. And since these higher parts of yourself are in communication with other souls and spirits, we can say that the intuitive information really comes from the universe. Also be aware that these higher parts of yourself have access to everything that you have ever learned, including what you learned in past lives.

There have been times when I have looked at someone and instantly known that they could not be trusted, or that they were not what they were pretending to be, and later had my intuition proven correct. I am sure that you can all think of similar experiences.

Let Me Go

We are locked in our bodies because we are worried about it.  Will my body be in pain, will it suffer?  Will it resolve into nothing if I leave it behind?

After all our worry and despair, we finally come to the realization that the body is nothing.  Nothing more than the vehicle that transported our spirit for a time.  Letting go of the body is as easy as counting 1    2     3.  Because we are so worried about our bodies we will suffer and be in pain, physically or mentally - makes no difference.

You might say, we live for 60, 70, 80 plus years often in pain because we just can't let go of what has been our home for so many years.  When we finally realize that our body is worn out and can no longer serve us, we are then and only then ready to leave it behind.

Some would say that this is just no so. But think about it and you will see that I am right.  Even a person in a hospital who seems so alive and recovering from their illness so well, will suddenly leave there body, dying.  Yes, they unconsciously let go of what they didn't need any more.

Can this be of any comfort to a person who has been ill for many years to read?  Not always.  We are not told nor do we believe or think that we are so attached to our body that we can not let it go so easily.  We often hold onto our spouse, a daughter or son who says "please don't die, I need you".  We tell them we are sick and it would be better for us to die, but selfish acts of others do more harm than good for us.  I want to leave now, please let me go...

This Great Earth

This great earth was created just for you and me.  It's filled with beauty in abundance.  As a bush pushes forth its stems, higher and higher, its leaves sprouts that nourish it, providing what is needed to keep it growing upward.  Then, just as it reaches its peak, out pops a bud.  A bud that soon develops into a beautiful flower that opens slowly until it's in full bloom all the while jettisoning its perfume into the air.  The flower at its peak last only for a little while and is truly a sight to behold.  We must captured the flower in a photo so that it will last forever.  Time and time again as we look at the photo we remember the moment that that flower bloomed just for us.  Remember that God made the flowers of the field and the earth that provides a holding place for it.

In this world there is so much beauty that many a person has spent a life time recording it in pictures just for us to enjoy.  Where else in the universe is there a place just like this earth? Maybe far out in the universe where no man has as yet gone, or maybe just a few feet from our door.  Look at what God has made and dive into it with ah and a sense of pleasure for what you have discovered.

Take the time to search out Gods beauty and look closely for something  new each day.  You'll find peace, joy, and serenity in your efforts.

Autumn

Autumn is a dazzling time of the year.  It's a time when Mother Nature shows her beauty in the changing of her trees from a massive green to a multi-explosion of colour.  Mountain sides and city streets lined with trees that were green just a moment ago are now full of reds, yellows, oranges and browns.

Cool breezes lightly blow across our path
to refresh our soul and uplifts our hearts.
The seasons come and the seasons go giving
us an opportunity to stop and appreciate all we have.
Just a fleeting moment in time the seasons go.

Did you take the time to appreciate the spring rains that swept away winter's splendour or the  beauty of spring explosions of flowers and the promise of better days ? Did you go some place in the summer that you'll remember for many years?  Now is the time to get out and explore the beauty of Mother Nature's  last stand for autumn is here.

Autumn by Eddie Dulian

Resplendent hues appease my vision,
Fall has fulfilled its yearly mission,
Sporadic breezes blow leaves around,
Forming multi-colored patterns upon the ground.

Sparrows utter subtle sounds,
As frantic squirrels make their rounds,
Brisk weather chases summer's bugs,
Emerald lawns become saffron rugs.

Children pile all the leaves they can muster,
Indian summer provides added luster,
Autumn is a season full of esteem,
It is a time of nature's brightest gleam.

Intuition

So where does this intuitive information really come from? I bet you thought that I was not going to tell you. Brace yourself now, that intuitive information actually comes from ourselves. Spiritual Laws

In my study of Modern Spiritualism, I learned that "Spiritualism Is a Philosophy because it studies the Laws of Nature both on the seen and unseen sides of life and bases its conclusions upon present observed facts. It accepts statements of observed facts of past ages and conclusions drawn there from, when sustained by reason and by results of observed facts of the present day".

We as Spiritualists are told that we are to study Natural Laws and learn about how they effect our lives and the life of the universe.

It is my goal to present to you as many Spiritual Laws as I can now and in the future. As you read the laws, you will begin to see how the problems in your life and the world are affected by the them. You will even get an idea as to how you can use the laws to make life better for yourself and others.

While I was studying a Course in Modern Spiritualism I started researching the many laws that Spiritualists know.  I was surprised to learn that there were well over a hundred natural/ spiritual/universal/cosmic laws in existence and all the laws were God's laws. I also learned that there is no set number of the laws and that they were in effect in the physical world and the spiritual world. In the spiritual world the laws work at a much weaker/finer form.  For example, when we think of the Law of Gravity as it relates to the physical world: "In our world, gravitation is a force exerted by the Earth's mass on all objects within its sphere of influence. This force causes all bodies to fall toward the center of the Earth and also keeps all objects from flying off the face of the Earth..."  In the spiritual world, it means that all spirit matter and spirit beings,  are prevented from floating around due to a finer gravitational field there that is a fraction of what it is in the physical world.

I will start by providing a definition for a law and then make a comment about what the law means to me.

The first laws is: "The Law of Abundance. (sometimes referred to as the Law of Opulence or Success.) By creating visualizations of abundance in our lives we draw this energy of success into our reality. Success or abundance does not only apply to money. There is success in communication, spirituality, relationships and so on. When creating the abundance of financial gain remember to be IN this world, but not OF this world. We are not the sum total of our possessions".

Abundance comes to us in many forms.  It comes in the form of  love, happiness, spirituality and a hundred other positive, spiritual ways. Visualization is only one way for a person to create abundance in their life.  But, visualizing sometimes doesn't mean that a person well get what they're visualizing.  It take action on the part of the person.  If a person prays for a winning lotto ticket, but doesn't buy one, he will not be a winner. Take a moment and add to the list of abundance you have and have experienced in your life.

2. "The Law of Action: Put another way, " No matter what we feel or know, no matter what our potential gifts or talents, only action brings them to life. Those of us who think we understand concepts, such as commitment, courage, and love, one day discover that we only create knowingness when we act; doing becomes understanding. Every aspirant is a focal point of energy and should be a conscious focal point. In the midst of the whirl and storm (of the chaos of third dimension) s/he should make his/her presence felt".

The Law of Abundance is directly related to the Law of Action because we cannot have abundance in our life without action.  Nothing moves or comes into existence without us doing something to make it happen. An external force must be applied physically or mentally in order to move any object no matter how large or small it may be.

3. The Law of Akasha. "A great cosmic law which is the principle of the intelligence of substance".

The akasha being a Sanskrit word meaning "sky", "space" or "aether" – are described as containing all knowledge of human experience and all experiences as well as the history of the cosmos encoded or written in the very aether or fabric of all existence.

This is the process of the mind and recognizing that memory is actually stored in a higher realm away from the body and spiritual data storage called the Akashic Records.

The Law of Akasha works when we make decisions or think of anything because we will then automatically connect to the true memory storage, which is then transferred back to the human mind for usage. We use these memories or experiences to complete any task that needs to be done. By doing this we complete the process which starts from the conscious world to the subconscious and then back to the conscious. This circuit is completed in a fraction of a second, over and over and over again. This Law works along with the Law of Action, the second of the Universal Laws.

4. The Law of Analogy. "Although this is a definite condition of third dimension existence, no analogy is ever exact in detail but only in certain broad basic correspondences. There will be found unchangeable points of resemblance, but in using analogy viewing creation, no two details are exact. Using analogy in trying to mentally explain the unexplainable, one attempts to convey understanding, in a broad sense".

Analogy is used to compare what is unknown to what is known in order to define the unknown thereby transforming it into new knowledge and understanding.

When a person is presented with an unknown he/she makes assumptions about the unknown and through experiment and analyzing the results, produces repeatable results that makes the previous unknown a known thus adding to his knowledge.

As we study Spiritual Laws we gain understanding of how the Laws affect us in our daily life and the lives of other people, nations and the universe.  The Laws provide us with knowledge and understanding that makes our lives a little easier. Easier for us to understand how everything in the universe is tied together and how each part affects another part.

Extraordinary

"All I ever wanted to be was a little extraordinary. But now all I want is to be ordinary again.

It‟s funny, isn‟t it, how life does that to you. Or perhaps it‟s just human nature, wishing for the greener side of the fence. One moment you are just an ordinary person, wishing for a little more adventure, a little more excitement – anything to break the day to day rules and restrictions you live by. Living with a simple wish, deep inside, to step outside your comfort zone, to become more: more noticeable, more amazing, more alive. Then when you have that in your grasp, when the opportunity arises to leave the less than exciting life behind, something happens; something that you never expected, something you weren‟t prepared to face. And there you are, looking back and wishing you were ordinary again".

Phenomena of Spiritualism

The Phenomena of Spiritualism consist of Prophecy, Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Gift of Tongues, Laying of Hands, Healing, Visions, Trance, Apports, Levitation, Raps, Automatic and independent Writing and Paintings, Voice, Materialization, Photography, Psychometry and any other manifestation proving the continuity of life as demonstrated through the physical and Spiritual senses and faculties of humanity.
The Christian Bible has many examples of the phenomena of spiritualism which are in harmony with Spiritualists beliefs as shown the Old and New testaments of the Bible as following:

Materializations - Genesis3:8, 18:1 32:24, Exodus 21:10, 11, Ezekiel 11:9, Daniel 5:5, Luke 24:15, 16, 29,30, 31, John 20:1, 12, 14, 19, 30

Independent Spirit Writing - Exodus - 24:12, 32:16, 34:1, Deuteronomy 5:22, 9:10

Spirit Writing - Daniel - 5:5

Trumpet Speaking - Exodus 19:13, 16, 29, 20:18, Revelation 1:10

Spirit Levitation -1 King 18:12, Ezekiel 3:12, 13, 14, 8:3, Acts 8:39

Independent Spirit Voices -Deuteronomy 9:12, 13, 1, Samuel 3:3, 9, Ezekiel 1:28,

Matthew 17:5, John 12:28,29,30, Acts 9:4, 7, 11:7,8,9

Spirit Communication in Dreams - Job33:15, Joel2:28, Genesis 28:12, 31:24, 27:5

Trance - Genesis 15:2, 17, Daniel 8:18, 10:9, Acts 9:3,9, 22:17

Golden Rule - Matthew 7:12

Healing - Numbers 21:8, 9, 2 Kings 4:18, 37, 5:1, 14
Luke 5:12-26, 9:11, 14:2, 4 Mark 3:2, 5, John 4:47, 54

Gift of Healing -
1 Corinthians 12:9, 28

Healing by Magnetized Articles - 2 Kings 4:29, Acts 19:11,12

Disciples Charged to Heal the Sick - Matthew 10:8, Luke 9:2, 10:9

Disciples Heal the Sick - Acts 3:1, 6:8, 10

As you can see by the above listings, there are a number of books, chapters and versus from the Bible that confirms that Spiritualist phenomena has been active for thousands of years.

When one reads the New testament, he/she can even find many references to life after death as expressed by Jesus when he said to his decuples, "In my fathers house are many mansions" (John 14:4).

The spirit world exist and all humans will go there when they make the change called death.  We are spirits living in a human body to experience life as only this physical world can provide us.

it is up to the individual to determine for him/herself whether the information in the various Bible versus are from a disincarnate spirit, other than God or from God.  The majority of Christians will tell you that the communications as described in the Bible were directly from God to man even if those communications were through a prophet (medium).  Yes, a profit is a medium a person who stands between God and man to give information to the recipient.  This point can be argued for a long time only to have the individuals arguing not being able to convince the other of their truth.

In many respects, Spiritualism and Christianity are at logger heads over incidentals that have little value, scientifically or otherwise.  The truth boils down to what are your personal beliefs and why do you hold them so tenaciously?

In general, Spiritualists do not, normally, try to convince anyone that their beliefs are the only true ones and that all others are wrong.  If a person clam's to be a Spiritualist and tries to push his/her beliefs off on another, he/she is a fraud not a Spiritualist.

The true purpose of Spiritualism is to provide information to the public that life continues after the change called death and that deceased individual's spirit can be communicated with; proof of continuity of life.

Only One Life

For more than 160 years non-Spiritualists condemned Spiritualists for their knowledge that life continues after the change called death. They were also condemned for believing that mediums could contact the "dead" and communicate with them. Mediums have been communicating with spirit people for thousands of years and were able to document the information that spirits, the dead, provided.

One of the main things that mediums were able to show is that all people when they die go to the spirit world, heaven. The Bible says in John 14:2 "In my Father's house there are many places to live in; otherwise I would have told you..." (New Jerusalem Bible) Spiritualists believe that all humans when they die go to a place in the spirit world where there are people who are just like them. That is, a place for the average good person and a place for criminals, but all humans go there no matter who or what they were like when physically alive. The Christian church tells us that only those who have accepted Christ as saviour go directly to heaven and all others sleep in the grave until the great day of judgement.

In this world there are people who believe that this is the only life that they will ever have, when they die, that's it, life for them ends. Many more people believe that this will not be their only life and that life does continues after the change called death. But where does our belief in an afterlife come from?

In the Encyclopedia of the unusual and unexplained How the Major Religions View the Afterlife. "With all their diversity of beliefs, the major religions are in accord in one great teaching: Human beings are immortal and their spirit comes from a divine world and may eventually return there. Since the earliest forms of spiritual expression, this is the great promise and hope that religions have offered to their followers".

Anthropologists who study ancient man found proof that those early people had a belief in an afterlife. The Book of the Dead, the Enuma Elish, the I Ching, and the Avesta, they are among the most ancient religious texts still in existence and all of them have references to an afterlife. (Www.sacred-text.com) "Until recently, it was believed that the “primitive” cave paintings were merely depictions of hunting animals, but new research show that the cave paintings are evidence of travels to the spirit world these travels could be of a similar nature as the near-death experience, and therefore, it is possible that experiences of the ultimate reality are as old as humanity". (www.awakeningafterlifethebook.com/index.php?option=com_content&id=artice&id=67&Itemid=65)

As shown above, belief that life continues after the change called death, has existed for tens of thousands of years. The Bible even has many references indicating that even in the time of Noah man believed in an after life. In the Bible's New Testament 1 Peter 3:18 it says "For Christ ... was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit". If Christ continued to live as a spirit after his body was put to death, it means that every human, past, present and future, when their body dies will continue to live as spirit beings.

Christianity teaches that man is "body", "soul" and "spirit" and that when the body dies, the soul and spirit live on, believing that the soul is the body of the spirit. Other than the findings of scientists that there is an afterlife, Christianity is the source of our belief today that we, man, are created in the image of God. In the Bible, Gen. 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness..." It says in John 4:24 "God is spirit...” this Bible verse tells us that we were created in the likeness of God as spirit beings long before we were born of woman. We don't know exactly when God created us (spirits). It could have been when God made mankind or untold millennia before that time, we just don't know. However, some people even believe that life only begins at the moment the male sperm unites with the egg of a woman and not before that moment.

Allen Kardec in his "The Spirit Book" asked his spirit guide Zefiro in question #78. "Have spirits had a beginning, or have they existed, like God, from all eternity?" "Zefiro replied
if spirits had not had a beginning, they would be equal with God; whereas they are His creation, and subject to His will. That God has existed from all eternity is incontestable; but as to when and how He created us, we know nothing. You may say that we have had no beginning in this sense, that, God being eternal, He must have incessantly created as to when and how each of us was made, this, I repeat, is known to no one. It is the great mystery."

An afterlife as mentioned above is a controversial subject in many respects but by the same token something that has been known for countless centuries. For us living in this physical world at this time the thought of an afterlife is a question. The church tells us that the bad person sleeps in the grave until judgement day, but do we. According to what is written above life continues after the change called death for all

Another question that comes up quite often is "do humans reincarnate"? The debate over reincarnation has been going on for hundreds of years. In the Far East, their is a strong belief in reincarnation. In the West, man believe that he has only one life to live. Whether you accept reincarnation as a fact or not makes no difference as to whether you go to heaven when you die, you will. I know that there are thousands of people who read this will say the reincarnation doesn't exist so, therefor, why debate the issue, if it is an issue.

One life to live, or many. You are the one who has to make up you own mind. For me, I'll wait and see what happens.

Time

Time may be an invention of man but it allows man to know when certain happenings in history and his life took place. Time is something we all know about but do we really?

Since the beginning of human history, man has used nature in order to tell time. He devised methods of recording the passage of the constellations throughout the sky, the phases of the moons in order to know when it was time to plant and a time to harvest. Later on man devised the sun dial and other devices to help him tell time, determining the number hours in a day and even the number of days in a year. In China and India and other parts of the world, water clocks were being used as early as 4000 BC. Water clocks advanced in sophistication for countless years until the development of the mechanical and electronic clocks of the type we use today.

When I was a young man, I read several articles by prominent scientists on the subject of time. Each man had a different interpretation on exactly what time is. However, each man conceded that he just didn't know what time really was.

"Time exists as an expression of change. Our human reality is a three dimensional material universe that includes movement and, therefore, a passage of time with the aging of all things physical. However, in the spirit world Souls exist in a NOW moment which is not on any kind of timeline and is not absolute". (The Newton Institute: The Spirit World and The Soul)

In the spirit world, time has no meaning for those who are there. Life consists of a multitude of "now" moments strung together so that they blend together without any kind of division. The spirit world consists of perpetual daylight with a constant warm temperature making it impossible for a person to know the passages of time, something that becomes irrelevant and of little or no importance the longer an individual is there.

At certain times of the year, those who live in the most northern countries on earth require a clock to tell time due to the fact that they experience night for weeks at a time. The only way they can tell time without a clock is by the requirements of their physical body. Those in the spirit world have no physical body, but a spirit body that has no physical require-ments. The passage of time is indeed a human invention and is extremely important to him. However, time is really irrelevant because life is continuous without a beginning or end.

For a person in the spirit world, life is filled with pure happiness. On earth life is quite different in that it is often filled with chaos, stress and despair, to put it mildly. But all is not lost, for life in the physical provides an individual with experiences that cannot be experienced in the spirit world. It is for this reason that spirit people come into this physical world.

The physical world provides the spirit person an opportunity to grow spiritually through the multitude of challenges that the physical has to offer. As a physical being, the individual then has an opportunity to once again find and live a spiritual life needed for true spiritual advancement.

Like so many of my human friends, I find it difficult to understand why anyone would choose to live in a place where there is war, famine, sickness and upheaval all the time. I can only hope that it is the kind of life that those individuals require as a way in which they can develop a greater faith and knowledge of God.

We all need to experience physical life, maybe many times, in order to truly be able to grow spiritually. Time spent in a physical body is a means, however short, to grow.
